The card of the month is the lesson of the month — a central theme that colours the whole four weeks.
For a monthly reading a five-card spread works beautifully: theme of the month, week one, week two, week three, week four. The monthly theme is the background music; the weekly cards are the scenes of the film.
If a hard month is ahead, expect more Major Arcana. That's not a sign of crisis — it's a sign of rapid growth. In such months the soul becomes larger.
At the end of the month, sit down and revisit the cards. Notice what came true and where you yourself changed the path. Tarot is a guidebook, not an unchangeable fate.
